SS163 Amalfitana is only about 50 km from Vietri sul Mare to Positano, but its Life List value comes from how much driving intensity is packed into that distance. Narrow cliff bends, buses, dense villages, parking scarcity and seasonal traffic controls mean the best plan is not to maximize kilometers. Use three days as a practical minimum, keep the rental car small, and be willing to park it when ferry or public transport is the better tool.
